Fun in the pool with SwimFin – helping children learn to swim

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

Who wants to be a shark?” I ask. Three hands instantly shoot into the air. We could all already tell this swimming session was going to be lots of fun.

On our visit to the new holiday homes at Budock Vean Hotel, we headed for their wonderful indoor heated pool. Our children are all at different stages of swimming competence, but love to get into the pool and splash about. It’s brilliant to see them getting more and more confident about being in the water and developing their swimming skills.

I had brought with me the sharks fin style floats from SwimFin which had got all three of them very excited, The Swim Fin strapped simply onto their backs and works as a flotation device. I really liked these as soon as they got into the water – their arms were free to swim naturally without any arm bands getting in the way and they loved the look of them

The SwimFin works for all different ages and all different stages of swimming ability. It helps little ones who are just learning, to float in a natural way, with the fin more submerged in the water, while still keeping them safe. For my older two who are more capable swimmers, the float is less in the water and helps them swim while not restricting them in any way. The SwimFins were really quick and easy to attach, with two comfortable wide straps.

All three loved playing at being sharks and thought having fins on their backs were brilliant. The younger two loved the bold primary colours and our oldest with his grey fin really loved that his was “shark coloured”. I was really pleased to see that he could swim on his back with the fin in place too.

The verdict was positive all round and the SwimFins will definitely be coming with us on all future swimming trips. You can find out more about SwimFin at their website.

We received SwimFins for the purposes of this review, but our opinions are our own.
