This ship uses all the latest technology from check-in via tablet (and an impressive ‘curb to onboard in 10 minutes’ aim. It was certainly super fast for us).
To drinks via the amazing bionic arm robots where you can choose from a classic cocktail or mix up your own concoctions.

The technology then goes big with the amazing North Star. An extendable arm that raises a glass viewing pod high into the air and out over the sea.
Such a great experience and a really unique onboard attraction.

There’s fantastic, often interactive art all over the ship. Such as with the chandelier which matches your heartbeat to its pulses and then keeps the beat in one of its bulbs.

The SeaPlex – Anthem of the Seas Photos
My favourite part of Anthem of the Seas has to be the changeable SeaPlex.
This is such a fun area and you can try out everything from trapeze skills to basketball.
In the evening the space turns into a roller disco and my older two (you have to be over five to take part) loved the bumper cars.

Kids on Anthem of the Seas
There’s so much for families on board. Older children will love the Xbox area and there’s a very cool lounge, ‘The Living Room’ for teens to hang out in on board.

For younger children the kids clubs are there to provide fun and activities for all age groups.
Spa
For adults, the spa area is a lovely, calm space. I enjoyed a Micro-dermabrasion facial which cleansed, polished and massaged my skin. Before blasting it (gently) with oxygen.
My skin has never felt softer.
On board activities
For me, Anthem of the Seas is a ship of fun. There’s just so much to keep everyone entertained and lots of different things to do onboard like having a go at surfing.

Or trying skydiving at the Ripcord by iFly. This is my six year old daughter having a go (she loved it).

There really was so much to see and do that a weekend isn’t enough time to fully explore it. From live theatre to a climbing wall. This is a ship and an experience that has so much to offer.
And there are plenty of opportunities to completely chill out too.

Anthem of the Seas Balcony Room – cabins for 5
The cabins on board Anthem are really comfortable. We had two interconnecting rooms that were absolutely perfect for a family of five.
With large double beds and sofas (some are also able to turn into sofa beds) they really suit larger families or those that want a bit more space.

And having a balcony to look out over the ocean and allow that morning burst of salty, sea air is ideal.

Restaurants
We loved the food on Anthem of the Seas and ate very well in the complimentary restaurants. With pizza, pasta and plenty of cakes available 24 hours a day.

For a small surcharge there were additional restaurants from my favourite burger place Johnny Rockets to the brilliant Jamie’s Italian.

Making friends onboard
One of the best parts of our weekend was the friends we made while there.
Seated with two other families at dinner the first evening we really bonded over bottles of wine and shared tales about what fun experiences we’d had.
And our children played together, making firm friends and looking forward to our nightly gatherings.
I now completely understand this experience of cruising is a way of meeting like-minded people who can become friends for life.
For me it was unexpected and something wonderful and tangible to take away from the trip when it finished.

What we thought of Anthem of the Seas
Our weekend onboard Anthem of the Seas has got us eager to explore more. There is so much to do and see and is a cruise ship really suited for families.
I went along to the press conference and loved to hear from the Senior Vice President, International, Dominic Paul that he completely understands that for many families their two-week holiday is vital, well earned and worked hard for. And so it has to be a fantastic time for all.
I really believe that a week or two onboard Anthem of the Seas will leave every member of the family very happy.

I applied to go on this, but wasn’t selected, so not gonna lie, a little jealous looking at your pictures! I wanted to try it out to see if we would find a cruise suitable before taking the plunge and actually booking a longer cruise!

Considering I’m fearful of the sea and don’t enjoy boats you may have converted me…. That or the robotic drinks makers 😉 x
She looks a fantastic ship, I hope to get to try her out some time, though it won’t be before next year as already cruising elsewhere this year.
Love the heartbeat chandelier, hadn’t heard of that before. The floor to ceiling glass windows also look fab – I really like those!
She really is a beautiful ship – hope you get to experience her soon, sounds like you’re a cruising pro!! Thank you for your comments.
