About us
Who are Globalmouse Travels?! We are a family of five adventurers from 14 years old up to., well, let’s not go there. Nichola is a freelance travel writer (after 15 years working for BBC Radio 4) and has a real passion for travel, starting from her first ever trip to Paris at age 5 months. Our features include family travel with all ages (from young children to teenagers), and adult travel too. From traditional family holidays to extreme day trips with friends, we like to cover it all.
What do we love?
As a family we really don’t like being tourists and love to search out the unusual – whether it’s finding a Chocolate Museum for big, cold chocolate milks in the middle of Havana, Cuba or taking a husky dog sled ride through the thick snow in Lapland – we like to see everything.

Globalmouse Travels in the UK
We are UK based and we love our country too so there are numerous posts about day trips around the British Isles and things to do in lovely England. Things such as steam train rides to the seaside, following in the footsteps of Harry Potter in Oxford and stays in 800 year old castles. We have. a complete guide to the UK with kids for all our features here.

We post regularly on trips to inspire you, tips to inform and ideas to encourage. We love a good chat, so please add your comments and own tips to any of our posts – we read them all and always try to write back.

Award winning
We are also award-winning and for four years in a row we have been one of Vuelio’s top three UK family travel bloggers. We were also named by Teletext as their top blog and we were finalists in the prestigious British Travel Awards.
