Alton Towers is such a well known name in the world of theme parks in the UK, and Alton Towers CBeebies Land is the latest addition for younger visitors. Only when you visit do you get a sense of the scale of the park and the fun that families can expect, as Globalmouse writer James and his family discovered.

This was our first visit to Alton Towers CBeebies Land and as we drove through the beautiful county of Staffordshire, we were all really excited about the day ahead.
The theme park is located in a rural location with the pretty village of Alton which gives the park its name situated just in the valley.
As we drove closer the park suddenly appeared from nowhere. We could hear the exciting screaming and roaring roller coasters, and the children couldn’t wait.

Arrival
The queues to enter the park were fairly short so we didn’t have to wait too long to get in. I would suggest that it’s best to pre-book your the tickets to cut down your wait time and allow yourself the chance to spend more time in the park.
Alton Towers CBeebies Land was where we planned to spend most of the day with our kids.
With a castle and lake in the distance, even the entrance seemed a magical spot.
My children regularly watch CBeebies and the area has fourteen different attractions based around the channel’s TV shows.
Whether it is riding on Postman Pat’s delivery van or floating through the Night Garden on a magical boat ride my kids were bursting with excitement.
The weather was perfect and we moved from ride to ride with the kids directing us to their favorite shows and experiences.
The rides and attractions
My youngest really enjoyed the In the Night Garden Magical Ride which saw us step in to Igglepiggle’s boat and set off to spot all the characters from the show. With Upsy Daisy blowing kisses at us and the Tombliboos having a game of peek-a-boo.
It was an extremely good ride for little ones and with commentary throughout it is relaxing, even for the adults.
The Octonauts roller coaster was a particular highlight which we went on several times. This allowed the children to enjoy the thrill of a slightly faster, more adult ride.
These rides are nowhere near as fast as some of the “proper” Alton tower rides but it makes children feel a part of something more “grown up”.
There’s so much here for little children to enjoy and we really loved stepping into the different attractions including Postman Pat’s Parcel Post, the interactive Mr Bloom’s Allotment, a crazy softplay space in Justin’s House and his Pie-O-Matic Factory.
You can even walk into an episode of Charlie and Lola where you might find yourself in Greenland looking for Green drops.
We also really liked spotting hand prints of the stars including Justin and Nina on the walkway around CBeebies Land like some kind of a Hollywood boulevard for kids.
There are also shows to enjoy during the day if you want to rest tired feet.
Our verdict of Alton Towers CBeebies Land
Even here in CBeebies Land it’s not possible to escape queuing for the rides, so my advice is to plan out your day and look for the rides which you really don’t want to miss out on.
With an average wait time of about 40 minutes on some of the bigger rides it may be worth investing in a fast track pass which will mean you’re spending more time on the attractions and less time waiting.
We thought that the park was amazing and if you have the funds a night at one of the themed hotels and a fast track pass would definitely be beneficial to help maximise your stay.
CBeebies Land is well worth the trip to Alton Towers and your little ones won’t be disappointed. There’s so much here in this area of the Theme Park and little one will have an amazing, enchanted day.
We will certainly be back when the children are old enough to take on some of the bigger rides and experience the rest of what this amazing park has to offer.
