Grand Hyatt Singapore - luxury on Orchard Road

From the moment we arrived at Grand Hyatt Singapore, it felt like discovering an urban oasis that the whole family could enjoy. This centrally located hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury, family comfort, and access to Singaporeโ€™s best sights. We stayed in two interconnecting rooms, which proved perfect for family travel – spacious, comfortable, and just the right amount of fun for the children. This hotel really allowed us to enjoy Singapore and everything it has on offer. We loved our stay and can’t wait to return.

Situated on Orchard Road at 10 Scotts Road, Grand Hyatt Singapore sits in the heart of Singaporeโ€™s famous shopping district. Just a four-minute walk to Orchard MRT station, it was easy to jump on the train and head to the airport or attractions like Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Botanic Gardens, or Marina Bayโ€ฏ.

Being close to malls like ION Orchard, Paragon and Takashimaya meant we had endless food and shopping options right outside the hotel doors. That convenience is particularly great when travelling with children. We all loved this location and had plenty to do every time we went for a wander.

We stayed in two interconnecting rooms, which was perfect for the five of us. In the main room we had a kingโ€‘size bed, and in the second room were twin beds and a cosy little nook bed – a little hideaway the children adoredโ€ฏ. The setโ€‘up gave us privacy and the kids their own space, while still keeping us together.

Rooms were spacious, with stylish dรฉcor and thoughtful touches – great views, a comfy daybed by the window, and plenty of spaceโ€ฏ. The housekeeping and service were excellent, and the overall feel was more like a resort than a city hotel.

The bathrooms had a wonderfully decadent feel to them, spacious and with fantastic showers. We also felt the products were fantastic quality.

Grand Hyatt, Singapore

While on the surface this looks like a business hotel, as soon as you get into it you realise the Grand Hyatt Singapore has got so much for families. It’s up there with the best hotels we’ve stayed in.

A large reason for that was the wellness centre which was incredible. Here the focus is on helping visitors to reconnect, reinvigorate and recover. This whole are of the Grand Hyatt Singapore is called Damai, which means “peace” in Malay. Here it is as if you have left the busy world of Singapore behind and stepped into a beautiful, tropical, calm space.

Pools

The hotel has two outdoor pools set in lush tropical gardens, which really gave it the feel of a resort in the city. Thereโ€™s a smaller splash pool ideal for younger children, and a large pool with massaging waterfalls and plenty of cabanas spread around the sides. Service buzzers at each lounger made ordering drinks or snacks effortless.

We spent so much time here, out by the pools relaxing. You couldn’t believe you were in the middle of a buzzing metropolis. Here it was calm and peaceful and we were often the only ones in the pools.

Gym, spa & wellness

The recently renovated fitness centre is impressive – modern machines, marble finishes, and ample natural light. The locker and spa area includes a hydrotherapy pool, steam room, and a dual therapy sauna. Here you can enjoy the heated rocks alongside the infrared technology, which is there to soothe aches, enhance circulation, and relieve tension

Executive club lounge – The Grand Club

We had access to the Executive Club Lounge, The Grand Club, which was especially valuable. Breakfast was available here (a quieter option than the main buffet), and in the afternoon they served a selection of tea sandwiches, crisps and cakes. In the evening the lounge became like a mini-dinner service: mini burgers, noodle soups, cheese boards, cakes – enough for many families to skip full dinner elsewhere.

We loved having this space to retreat to. It became a little ritual after we had been out, to nip in for some cold drinks and a few snacks. The children thought it was fantastic.

Breakfast at Straits Kitchen

The Straits Kitchen breakfast buffet was one of the most memorable weโ€™ve ever had. It offered every imaginable station -freshly cooked eggs, pastries, yoghurts, juices (including freshly-squeezed orange), and my favourite:, an Indian breakfast section filled with vegetarian curries, breads, dosas and chutneys. It was incredible. Nutrient-packed, flavourful, and easy for every one of us to find something we loved. This is a breakfast that is really worth waking up for.

Dinner at Peteโ€™s Place, Grand Hyatt Singapore

We also had a wonderful evening at Peteโ€™s Place, a classic Italian restaurant open since 1973. For starters we shared mushroom arancini, tomato bruschetta, and burrata. Our mains were handโ€‘made gnocchi with pesto, and a vegetarian version of the spaghetti carbonara – rich, creamy and delicious.

For pudding, we tried their awardโ€‘winning tiramisu and a creamy affogato, both of which were delicious. The setting is cosy and oldโ€‘school, and the whole meal felt special for a family dinner in Singapore.

Being right by Orchard MRT station made getting around easy. A couple of minutes walk got us onto the downtown rail line, which goes directly to Changi Airport, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Botanic Gardens, and the Merlion.

A short walk from the hotel is Orchard Road, with its shopping malls full of eateries, toy shops, and fruit stalls, perfect for grabbing snacks or finding playful souvenirs. Singapore Botanic Gardens is only about a mile away and offers open lawns, lakes, and the Childrenโ€™s Garden.

We absolutely loved the location and thought it was perfect spot for a family break in the city. Centrally located, with great shops and restaurants nearby and next to the metro station. It was perfect.

Grand Hyatt Singapore combines city convenience with stylish relaxation in a way that worked brilliantly for our family. Our interconnecting rooms were roomy and flexible. The pools gave the kids heaps of fun, and cabanas with service made it easy for us to unwind. Breakfast was a highlight – especially that incredible vegetarianโ€‘friendly spread. Dinner at Peteโ€™s Place felt special without being fussy.
