If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Lincoln with kids this is ideal. It’s one of the great places to stay in Lincoln.

One of the great places to stay in Lincoln - No 7 Castle Square — No 7 Castle Square

No 7 Castle Square is in the heart of historic Lincoln, a Georgian house full of charm. The front door opens out on to the street so you feel as though you’re living in the city.

As part of the nearby White Hart Hotel you still get all the benefits of the hotel while staying in a self catering home.

The property retains much of the character of the Georgian home it once was. But has been sympathetically and beautifully updated.

Sleeps

No 7 Castle Square has two double bedrooms with really comfortable beds and lovely bed linen.

Each room also has a sofa which can turn into a double sofa bed. Perfect if you’re visiting Lincoln with kids.

The bedrooms each have an attached bathroom too. These are really well designed with amazing showers and a bath in one. They also have some of my favourite products, Elemis, to use.

The house has a great kitchen with everything you could need to stay here for a week or more. Lots of utensils and nice touches like a Nespresso maker and pods.

The children loved the little cinema room off of the kitchen. With big cushions to relax on they could squirrel themselves away to watch films.

Breakfast

We had breakfast each day in the hotel’s restaurant, The Antler. We absolutely loved the breakfast here.

There’s a continental spread to help yourself too. Packed with good quality ingredients and pastries, juices, fruits, cereals.

Then you could also order from a hot menu. We enjoyed a full vegetarian English breakfast, Eggs Royale and smashed avocado on sourdough. It was the perfect way to start the day.

The bar

On the first evening we ordered some food from the bar menu. This is really well priced and we really liked the fresh pizzas, salads and sandwiches.

Antler’s Restaurant – No 7 Castle Square

On our last evening we ate in the Antlers Restaurant which is part of the White Hart Hotel.

We had a lovely family meal here with starters of English asparagus with bubble and squeak which was delicious. And some scallops.

There was a great vegetarian selection and we enjoyed a mushroom stroganoff and some masala carrots with a really tasty dahl. The children were really pleased to see fish and chips on the menu.

We loved the imaginative desserts. Particularly the Fairground selection with marshmallow flavoured ice cream, candy floss and churros.

What to do nearby

Lincoln is a wonderful city for a family visit. No 7 Castle Square is very close to all the historic action.

Lincoln Cathedral

Lincoln Cathedral is just moments away from No 7 Castle Square. It’s a really loved place to spend some time.

The stained glass windows are awe inspiring and children will love trying to spot the Lincoln Imp.

Lincoln Castle

The 11th Century Lincoln Castle was built by William the Conqueror. They have lots of events taking place here from jousts to Medieval style fairs.

Its also one of only a couple of places in the UK that you can see the Magna Carta which is wonderful to catch a glimpse of.

You can also explore the old Victorian prison on this site which is fun for all ages.

Steep Hill

Just outside of No 7 Castle Square is Steep Hill. Voted one of the prettiest streets in the UK.

This cobbled street is full of independent shops including those selling fudge and ice cream. So a great wander.

The best bits of staying at No 7 Castle Square – places to stay in Lincoln

No 7 Castle Square really is a home from home. We felt like we were living in the old part of Lincoln.

It was wonderful to open the front door and turn left to a two minute walk to the cathedral. Or turn right for a two minute walk to the castle.

It was lovely to stay in a property with so much character. We liked all the modern touches and amenities though.

What we thought of our stay at No 7 Castle Square

We really enjoyed our time at No 7 Castle Square. There’s a real benefit to having your own space but also having all the amenities of being attached to a hotel.

This has to be one of the best places to stay in Lincoln.
