Sleep

Riddergaarden boasts a variety of modern apartments designed to accommodate families of different sizes.
Options range from cosy one-bedroom units to spacious three-bedroom apartments.
We stayed in one of their three bedroom apartments which was the perfect space for our family of five.
We had a large open plan living area. This comprised of a comfortable lounge area with tv. A fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and all the utensils. And a dining area. This part of the apartment also opened up on to a balcony which would have been lovely in summer.
The one omission was a washing machine and there don’t seem to be any in the hotel either. So definitely take enough clothes for your trip.
The three bedrooms were set up as one double with an ensuite and two with bunk beds in. These were really comfortable and came with all the bedding set up (sometimes in Scandinavia they don’t include bedding). The one oddity was no wardrobes or real hanging space but we used some of the pegs on the backs of the doors to keep our clothes organised.
The ensuite was a lovely benefit and the main bathroom was very spacious with great products. The real bonus here was that we had our own sauna for real added luxury.
There’s free Wi-Fi and the lodge offers indoor parking facilities, with lifts providing easy access to all floors. It was easy to leave our ski gear here too with a designated ski locker downstairs. This meant it was very quick to get out on to the slopes and back in again after we were done.
Facilities at Riddergaarden Mountain Lodge

One of the standout features of Riddergaarden is the Ridderbadet wellness centre. Located on the third floor of the main building.
This facility offers both indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor hot tub, and a sauna and caters to guests of all ages. The adult section provides a serene environment for relaxation, while the children’s area is equipped with waterfalls, fountains, and a water slide.

We absolutely loved our time here in the pools. It was wonderful to be sat in the warm water as the snow fell and the sight of the mountains in the distance.
One of my favourite memories was late on the last night, sitting with my oldest son in the hot tub, snow falling, talking about his plans for the future.
It’s the perfect place to relax after being out on the slopes.
There is also an on-site arcade, featuring pinball machines, pool tables, air hockey, and various simulators.
Food
Breakfast

Each morning we had breakfast in the dining room on the third floor.
This provided an amazing spread of food, really high quality ingredients. We loved the cereals and granula, the fresh bread and jams, pastries, juices and strong coffee. There were hot items available and lots of fruit too.
It was the perfect set up to a day out exercising.
Casa Montagna
In the evening, Casa Montagna serves authentic Italian cuisine, offering a delightful culinary experience without leaving the lodge. The restaurant is open daily.
We had a really lovely meal here with pizzas and pasta alongside some great bruschetta. It was really nice to not have to leave the lodge to have a really great meal.
Activities nearby
Beyond the immediate access to skiing and snowboarding during winter, Beitostølen offers a plethora of outdoor activities throughout the year. Guests can explore hiking trails, engage in mountain biking, or venture into the neighbouring Jotunheimen National Park for breathtaking scenery and adventures.
