Our Florida holiday reveal (Disney reveal ideas).
A holiday to Florida is something very special. Particularly when you’ve got kids.
It really is somewhere to have the best of fun.
We adored our trip last year with Virgin holidays to Universal Orlando Resort. It was somewhere the whole family just couldn’t stop smiling while we were there.
When we were planning a return trip to Universal and Florida we knew it would take the children by surprise. They loved the holiday so much last year but they had no idea there was a possibility of going back.
Once we had it all booked in we decided to do a Florida holiday reveal.
This would work for Disney reveal ideas or surprise Disney trip reveal ideas – it’s a fun way to announce the news)
Our Florida holiday reveal (Disney reveal ideas)
When the children came back from school we told them there was a word hunt. They had to find some clues to tell them something special.
The excitement was only just beginning but they already loved the fun of a word hunt around the house.
The first clue told them to look near a sink which eventually led them to find the letters ‘E’ and ‘W’ which the youngest spelled out to mean ‘We’.
They raced around the house, the next letters found under one of the duvets on one of their beds spelled out ‘are’.
They then discovered ‘going’ in a pair of wellies by the back door.
The final word ‘to’ was placed on the table, discovered under a cushion in the lounge.
They looked at us expectedly, eyes wide, not really knowing what to expect.
We told them to stand next to the big box in the lounge which had a blanket over it. We’d told them not to touch it as it was fragile.
We counted down and said they could pull the blanket back on ‘zero’. ’10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5…” we called out cheerfully.
They looked a little nervous, not quite sure what was in the big box in front of them.
“4, 3, 2, 1”, eyes widened now, slightly scared, full of anticipation.
“Zero” we called out and our ten year old pulled the blanket from the top of the box.
A huge Minion floated to the ceiling. Their favourite character at Universal and the ride we went on the most.
They all looked up at him before our eight year old noticed the sign taped to the ribbon on the front.
“Florida?” she said, confused. It hit the ten year old first, he turned around to look at us, not believing, not sure if he dared to believe.
Before crying out, “What? Florida? Am I dreaming? Is this a dream?”.
He started to cry, which made us cry while the younger two were jumping up and down.
“We’re going back to Universal Studios, we’ll get to see the minions again”.
The children were so sweet, hugging us and saying “thank you so much” over and over again.
I love that no matter how much we travel they are still so full of wonder and excitement for hitting the road again and don’t take any of it for granted.
They know they’re lucky and they’re thankful and gracious and I absolutely love travelling with them.
So…..Florida here we come.

Thats an amazing suprise. Ive been to Florida many times. Ive just come back from California and visited Disneyland and Universal Hollywood. After being to both Florida and California, I definitely think both Disney and Universal over there are much better than the ones in Florida

I totally love this travel reveal! I have never thought about that. I simply just blurt things out to hubby even if its a surprise. With a little one on the way I am definitely remembering this brilliant idea.
