After a day exploring the city, we settled in to experience their new menu โ and it proved to be exactly what you want from a central city hotel restaurant: relaxed, sociable, and full of flavour.
Thereโs an immediate sense of ease as you step into the restaurant, tucked neatly next to the hotel’s bar and lobby. The space feels modern and comfortable, with soft lighting and a laid-back atmosphere that works brilliantly for families, couples and solo travellers alike.

Starters at Hilton Garden Inn Budapest City Centre

The new menu at Hilton Garden Inn Budapest City Centre leans into a small plates and sociable dining concept, but thereโs still plenty of substance for those wanting a more traditional meal. We loved the variety on offer, especially across the starters and lighter bites.
Dishes like Italian focaccia with Mediterranean dips and vegan beetroot falafel with tahini and avocado salsa set the tone, while the salmon gravadlax with apple and dill added a fresh, elegant touch.

For something more comforting, the goulash soup is a nod to Hungarian tradition and feels like a must-try when in Budapest.
The bar bites and lighter dishes are perfect for easy evenings. Options like the classic Caesar salad with chicken, Garden Inn club sandwich, and halloumi wrap offer familiar, well-executed favourites that are ideal for families or picky eaters.

Thereโs also a great selection of heartier options, including a tempura fish baguette with house tartare and the indulgent tuna melt sandwich. Itโs this mix of international comfort food and local inspiration that makes the menu so accessible and ideal for families.
Main courses
If youโre looking for something more substantial, the mains menu delivers. We loved their vegetarian options, such as fettuccine with white wine sauce and sun-dried tomatoes and the vegan wild mushroom risotto, which ensured there was something for every appetite.

For those wanting something indulgent, dishes like the fried salmon fillet with quinoa and beetroot hummus offered a more elevated dining feel.

And for youngsters there are classic margarita pizzas, filled with flavour and simple ingredients.

Puddings at Hilton Garden Inn Budapest City Centre
Desserts here are simple, classic, and very tempting. From a rich chocolate brownie with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream to a creamy New York cheesecake with wild berry ragout, thereโs plenty to round off the evening on a sweet note.
The lemon meringue tart with vanilla foam offers a lighter, fresher option if youโre not quite ready for something too heavy.

The relaxed setting, flexible menu and variety of familiar dishes make it a stress-free dining option after a long day of sightseeing. Itโs exactly the kind of place youโre grateful to have right on your doorstep when travelling with children.
Itโs stylish without being formal, relaxed without feeling basic, and the new menu brings a fresh, sociable energy to the space.
