If you’re heading to Moscow you can’t do better than a stay at the Lotte Hotel Moscow. This is a centrally located hotel and just has everything you could need for a lovely stay.
It is amazingly well-appointed, in a great location, with friendly and helpful staff and fantastic food.
I could go on about this hotel forever. Moscow is a wonderful city to visit but with somewhere like the Lotte Hotel Moscow it’s hard to leave.

In a really central location, within walking distance to the shopping and cultural highlights of Moscow the Lotte Hotel is also a few minute’s walk away from the Smolenskaya metro station.
It is situated on the edge of the vibrant Arbat district. Which means there are plenty of places nearby for a wander around or meal out.
As part of the Asian Lotte group this hotel has 239 rooms and 61 suites. They all have a hint of the East about them with beautiful lacquered doors and inspired interiors.
We loved the tranquillity of the Winter Garden which we passed on the way to breakfast each day.
There are still elements to situate it firmly in Russia. With gorgeous pictures in the rooms and furniture around the hotel.
And there were some amazing chandeliers.
Lotte Hotel, Moscow – Sleeps:
We had a family room which had two double beds.
There was also plenty of room for our cot.
The bathroom was fantastic with a suite of three rooms including a rainforest shower. And there were some lovely Molton Brown toiletries.
The mini bar was particularly special with its array of snacks.
And there was so much space in the room with a huge wardrobe and dressing area when you first walked in.
There was just a feeling of calm. We slept well very here and definitely didn’t want to leave.
Food:
The food at the Lotte Hotel, Moscow is seriously good.
We had dinner in the hotel’s signature restaurant and the food was outstanding.
We had a whole selection of dishes that were unbelievably tasty including pastas in rich sauces and imaginative vegetarian dishes with spinach sauce. There were desserts like you’ve never tasted before with chocolate and big, plump, sweet cherries.
Then there’s breakfast. This is the breakfast to end all breakfasts.
There is simply everything you could possibly want or dream of from caviar and champagne, to Russian pancakes in chocolate sauce.
There are fruits from mixed salads through to tropical pieces like dragon fruit.
They have Chinese dumplings, macarons, Spanish ham, an egg chef, fresh yoghurts, miso soup, pastas with pesto – and all for breakfast.
This really was just an incredible way to start the day.
The Best Bits
This hotel has everything. It’s welcoming and so friendly.
The service was always consistent and never overbearing.
The rooms had so many amazing features. From free high-speed wifi throughout to all the little bathroom extras like toothbrushes and razor right through to the in-room tablet.
No expense has been spared for a super comfortable stay.
There’s also an amazing spa. I didn’t get to have any treatments (this time) but we did spend quite a bit of time at the swimming pool.
With its ambient music and mood lighting it was wonderful. A lovely, relaxing space that was just beautiful to be in.
Worth Bearing in Mind
You won’t want to leave? Your seven-year-old might cry when you do leave and say he wants to stay forever?!
Honestly, I have nothing to say here.

Very. My main criteria for somewhere being family-friendly is that it is welcoming and the Lotte Hotel, Moscow was completely welcoming.
With little gifts and really genuine conversations with our children, the staff were brilliant.
There were lovely little touches like milk and biscuits waiting for the children after we got home late from a long day out sightseeing.
To their own bowls and cutlery at breakfast.
And then there’s the pool which we had to ourselves every time we swam in it.
This is a great hotel for a family stay. We cannot wait to go back.

10 things to do in Moscow with kids
This looks amazing. Moscow and St Petersburg are on my travel wishlist and this definitely looks like a place I would love to stay at. It looks incredible and it’s great to hear that the staff make such a big effort to make little ones welcome x
Wow. Just WOW. That is a far cry from the hotel we stayed in years ago in Moscow!! I would love to return, unfortunately I contracted severe food poisoning and missed half the trip.
Now this hotel sounds just up my street. I have never been to Moscow and I would so love to go one day. The rooms looks wonderfully appointed and the food – well…. I would be in hotel love too 🙂

Moscow sure has moved on a bit since I visited in 1988. I keep watching TV programmes about luxury hotels and this one looks right up there with them.

We have just returned and had the most amazing time. What I loved most about it was how friendly the people were on top of everything there is to see and do. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back with the children.
