Kaumanis Villas is ideally situated in Sanur. Baliโ€™s family-friendly and laid-back coastal neighbourhood. Located on a quiet residential lane, the villas offer peace and calm – yet in just a short hop (by private complimentary transfer), youโ€™re on the golden beach with its gentle waves, shady pandanus trees, and gorgeous sunset views.

Sanurโ€™s charm lies in its balance: a slower pace than south Bali hotspots, but still rich with cafรฉs, shops, art studios, and local life. You can take early morning bike rides along the beachfront promenade, pausing for fresh coconut juice or stopping at one of the many bakeries for pastries. Cultural excursions like the Le Mayeur Museum, Pura Blanjong temple, and traditional markets are just minutes away by taxi or using Grab.

What we loved most about the location was that, by day, we could immerse ourselves in Sanurโ€™s neighbourly atmosphere – and by evening, we were back in our private villa haven within minutes. it gave us the perfect opportunity to relax while still being able to explore beautiful Bali.

We stayed in one of Kaumanisโ€™ luxurious three-bedroom villas, and it felt like our own secluded sanctuary. Set within a complex that blended wood and eco-stone with tropical greenery, the villa offered generous living spaces and private outdoor areas for the whole family. We felt like it was a resort within a resort. A perfect retreat.

Layout and space

  • Three bedroomsโ€”each with king-size or twin beds, high ceilings, air-conditioning, and ensuite bathrooms.
  • Two rooms with outdoor bathrooms, one with an indoor bathroom.
  • An open-plan living room with comfortable sofas, media cabinet, and bamboo accents; ideal for family movie nights.
  • A fully equipped kitchenette with fridge, coffee machine, sink, and basics – handy for preparing childrenโ€™s snacks or late-night bites.

The outdoor area and pool

Stepping through the wooden entrance doors, we discovered our beautiful private pool nestled amid tropical greenery. The sun deck with loungers and shaded daybeds made every swim feel like our own private resort. Evenings were spent floating or stretched out under beautiful flowering trees amid the gentle sound of trickling water. It really was the most relaxing space and we all adored it. We regularly came together in evenings in the lounge area, sat outside in the warm night air. It felt really happy here.

Design and comfort – Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa

The villa felt elegant yet easygoing: pale stone tiles, wooden furnishings, Balinese textiles, and delicate artwork. Soft lighting and natural tones created a soothing ambience. Practical touches like a safe, lots of wardrobe space, air conditioning, and ceiling fans made everything so easy.

For families, the villa was ideal. The layout offered space and privacy – parents could rest in one room while kids slept in another. The villa was secure, private, and perfect for enjoying family time.

Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa is small by design, with just a handful of villas, but its facilities offer big benefits:

1. Individual pools

Each villa has its own pool which is perfect to enjoy. We loved morning swims and afternoons floating and cooling off in the water. The surrounding deck has loungers and daybeds where you can chill out and read. There was a plentiful supply of towels and staff came in twice a day to tidy the entire villa and replace towels.

2. Spa treatments

There is a small onsite spa area, but you can also have treatments scheduled in your villa or your private wooden pavilion. We all enjoyed a taster massage which was so relaxing.

3. Concierge & inspired experiences

The staff can arrange everything from airport transfers to bike hires, cooking classes, yoga sessions, temple visits, and even customised day-trip itineraries (like the neighbouring rice terraces or Sanurโ€™s quieter temples). The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

4. Shuttle service & bike rides

Complimentary village shuttle service is available between 8am and 5pm. You can take this to and from the main town and the beach. Beautifully maintained bicycles are also provided for exploring Sanurโ€™s streets, beach paths, and markets.

5. Family friendly beach

Kayumanis has its own beach area with sun loungers, umbrellas, towels and a shower. We loved being able to spend time at the beach and really relax with all the facilities there. We took the shuttle here and spent a lovely time by the sea.

6. Cooking demonstrations

It was wonderful to have a demonstration of Indonesian cooking by one of the chefs. It’s a fantastic chance to see some delicious dishes being made. Great inspiration for cooking up a storm at home.

While the villaโ€™s kitchenette was useful, the onsite restaurant provided most of our meals as the food was so good. You can eat at the resort’s restaurant but you can also opt to have it in your villa, which we did every time. Staff would come in and set up all the food and drinks and utensils and then clear it all away once we had finished. It was a wonderful benefit.

Breakfast

Served fresh and bright in the open-air restaurant or, as we had it, brought to our room each morning to enjoy in our outdoor dining area. Breakfast included Balinese and international options: museli, tropical fruit plates, eggs Benedict, French toast, croissants, plus Balinese favourites like bubur ayam and nasi goreng. Coffee and juices were freshly prepared, satisfying every palate (and every age). This was such a wonderful feast each morning and an amazing spread of food included.

Afternoon tea

Each afternoon we found sweet and savoury snacks waiting for us. This included warm banana fritters, pastries, local cakes, herbal teas, and hot chocolates for the children – perfect for lazy, post-swim downtime.

Dinner at Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa

Dinner featured a seasonal menu celebrating local produce and Indonesian spices, alongside international dishes. The hotel were fantastic at making vegetarian versions of the food for us. We savoured a classic Indonesian curry, noodle stir-fries, nasi goreng, and lighter salads. As we ate in the villa this was a lovely, unhurried event.

What made Kaumanis Villas shine for us wasnโ€™t just the space – it was the little thoughtful extras that made us feel welcome and is perfect for families:

  • The open plan villa layout makes supervision easy during pool time and meals.
  • The kitchenette means you could keep routine snacks for the children and offer familiar food when needed.
  • Afternoon tea feels like a real treat for the kids with lovely sweet tastes.
  • Staff kindness: everyone greeted us with such warmth and made our time feel wonderful.

Unlike resort kidsโ€™ clubs or animations, the calm, personalised attention won us over. It felt secure, unhurried, andโ€”most importantlyโ€”genuinely thoughtful.

Whether you’re planning a multi-week Bali itinerary or just a few nights in Sanur, Kayumanis Villas offers a flexible, relaxed base:

  1. Coastal calm and beach days โ€“ With the beach just minutes away, we built days around swims, long lingering breakfasts, and sunset strolls.
  2. Cultural excursions โ€“ Temple mornings (Pura Blanjong, Mengening), local cooking classes, artisan workshops and Balinese dance performances are all easy to arrange through the villa team.
  3. Natural escapes โ€“ day trips to Tegenungan waterfall or Mount Agungโ€™s viewpoint are all simple to organise.
  4. Home-like balance โ€“ The villa felt private and restful, yet lively neighbourhood cafรฉs, spas, and markets remained within easy reach.
  5. So much space โ€“ With our own pool, outdoor lounge, dining space and kitchen plus three spacious bedrooms we could all really relax here.

Sanurโ€™s slower tempo offered space to breathe – with cultural exploration woven around lazy mornings, lunchtime pool dips, and dinners at dusk in our own dining room. It felt like a mindful and meaningful way to travel.
