Ski Decor craft: Ski garland / Ski bunting – What you will need
- Wooden craft sticks / lolly sticks
- Cocktail sticks
- Paint (spray paint, acrylics, or even nail varnish)
- Felt
- 8mm metal poppers / snap fasteners
- String or baker’s twine
- Hot glue gun
Step by step instructions for your ski decor
1. Paint your skis
Start by painting your wooden sticks in the colours of your choice. Bright blues, whites and reds work well, but you can personalise them however you like. Add details with markers, paint pens or even glitter.
2. Make the ski pole handles
Cut rectangles of felt, fold them in half to create loops and hot glue them to one end of each cocktail stick.
3. Add the ski pole spikes
Glue a small popper or snap fastener to the other end of the cocktail stick – this makes a realistic pole spike.
4. Assemble your skis
Cross two painted lolly sticks into an X shape, glue them together, and allow to dry.
5. Attach the poles
Glue two cocktail-stick poles diagonally over your skis so they look ready for action.
6. String your garland
Cut a length of twine and glue the back of each ski set to it at equal intervals. Tie loops at each end for hanging.
Now your DIY ski bunting is ready to hang up – instant ski lodge vibes wherever you are.
