Shopping in Aruba – The best Aruba souvenirs: When we travelled to Aruba we knew that the children would want to buy some souvenirs with their pocket money. But wasn’t sure whether there would be anything for them…or us. What to buy in Aruba? Well, it turns out, quite a bit. There are lots of fun and relatively inexpensive treats to buy across the island. So we’ve rounded up our top souvenirs to buy in Aruba for kids, but adults will definitely love them too.

Arubiano Flip Flops – Shopping in Aruba
I love these Arubiano Flip Flops which are eco-friendly and use 100% of recycled products.
They have plenty of designs and when I picked up a pair the children then decided they wanted a pair too.
I thought they were a good price and a nice reminder of our trip to Aruba.
We bought ours at the lovely gift shop next to the Natural Bridge but we also spotted them in the shop at Lucy’s Retired Surfer’s restaurant in Oranjested.

Stroopwafels from Aruba
We are the biggest fan of Stroopwafels.
After our amazing summer trip to the Netherlands where we ate them constantly we were so pleased to find them in Dutch Aruba.
They are available at all the supermarkets. And you can also pick up some lovely little souvenir tins to keep your pens in afterwards.
You can even watch them making them fresh at the Super Food supermarket.
Aloe Vera – the ideal Aruba souvenir
Aloe Vera and Aruba have a long history. And Aruba has some of the world’s oldest Aloe Vera farms, going back to the 19th century.
Aloe Vera is grown all over the island and you can visit some of the Aloe farms to find out more about this amazing plant and all its health benefits.
You can also find products using Aloe to purchase when you’re shopping in Aruba. This is a great souvenir to take home.
Aruba Happy Families
We love this game which we found at Superfoods, the gift shop below the Renaissance and the main toy shop opposite the port.
I’m sure there are plenty of other places to buy it too.
It’s a great way to bring the family together over a game and it is filled with facts about Aruba so it’s the perfect way to learn all about the island too.
Butterfly gifts – Shopping in Aruba
If you are a fan of butterflies, even mildly, I would really suggest a trip to Aruba Butterfly Farm which is a beautiful place just off of Eagle Beach.
It’s a lovely, tranquil spot and they have a fantastic gift shop, packed with butterfly themed gifts from wall hangings to clothes.
My nine year old daughter fell in love with this farm and picked up a really lovely, inexpensive necklace here to remind her of her trip.
Cuddly Lizard – Aruba souvenirs
We loved seeing all the lizards and iguanas all over Aruba and our six year old fell in love with the cuddly lizard plush toys we saw all around the port area of Oranjested.
They have Aruba stitched on to the side and many of them are also puppets and they’re a sweet reminder of our trip to this lovely island.
Aruba Monopoly
This isn’t one we picked up but I loved the look of Aruba Monopoly.
We spotted this in the shop below the Renaissance and thought it looked so much fun with all the highlights of the island contained in one fun family board game. This would be a great souvenir to take home.
Blue Dutch pottery – perfect for shopping in Aruba
All over Aruba there are little nods to this island being a Dutch colony. And one of the loveliest things you can pick up in Aruba are pieces of the distinctive blue pottery you can purchase in the Netherlands.
It’s a reminder of this odd and wonderful mix of European and Caribbean life that Aruba occupies.
Shopping in Aruba spicy sauce
Check out your country’s rules regarding taking out food but if you can (and if not then just make sure you try it when you’re in Aruba), take home a bottle of the island’s legendary spicy sauce.
There are a few different brands and many people hail this as the best hot sauce they’ve ever tasted.
Pick up quirky souvenirs at Aruba’s garden centre
It made not seem the most obvious place to visit on a holiday to Aruba but the garden centre, Fantastic Gardens is a wonderful place for a visit.
There’s a small cafe and playground here and it is packed full of beautiful plants but also a small selection of souvenirs. We bought some Day of the Dead hand painted pots.
It’s somewhere very different for a souvenir from Aruba.
