On our recent trip to Dubai we really fancied spending some time in one of the many water parks to cool off in the spring sunshine. Our children are five, eight and 10. So when looking around for the best water park in Dubai for younger children we decided to give Legoland Water park Dubai a go.

About Legoland Water park Dubai
Attached to the main Legoland Park (although with a separate entrance ticket) Legoland Water Park is part of the Dubai Parks and Resorts area of the city. It is geared towards under 12 year olds so was perfect for our family.
We visited before the main Easter school holidays, mid-week and the park was unbelievably quiet.
Build-A-Raft river
We started off with the Build-A-Raft River, a lazy river which stretches around the edges of the park.
We loved this, you could take single or double rings and set off on a ride that lasts around ten minutes.
There are patches on the rings where you can attach large LEGO bricks which are floating around the water. My youngest absolutely loved this.
Part of the double ring we had was raised so my five-year old could sit on the top. Bouncing along as I steered us.
All of us went on the Build-A-Raft River and thought it was brilliant. Nothing too rough and it was a great way to cool off too.
Red Rush slide
We then headed to the Red Rush slide which initially looked scary. You could see the large rings (that hold six) being pulled up to the top.
You climb up the steps and sit down in the large ring, holding on to the sides with the handles. Then go whizzing down the shute.
It had a thrill factor but also felt safe enough that after we tested it out we took our usually quite scared five-year old on it and he really enjoyed it.
Other water slides at Legoland Water park Dubai
Next to the Red Rush were three other water slides. All helping kids grow in confidence with the thrill of the ride, with none of them being too scary.
One of the reasons I feel like Legoland waterpark is the best water park in Dubai for younger children is the size of it. There is plenty to do but it’s all in a relatively small area so you feel like you can let your children explore a little.
We didn’t take our eyes off ours but there are numerous lifeguards keeping a very good eye on everyone. It definitely feels like a safe park.
Wave pool
After a couple of goes on the rides we headed over to the large wave pool at the end of the park.
This is a wonderful pool that the children loved and would have spent hours in if we’d had time. As it was we were there at least an hour.
They were so happy splashing around and every few minutes the wave pool would be activated and they would start jumping waves again.
With soft life jackets for non swimmers it was the perfect place to let them play while we laid back on the sun loungers and watched.
There were also a few fun water sprays here which everyone could play in. But our children were just as happy splashing around in the cool water.
Bigger slides – review of Legoland Water park Dubai
Behind the wave pool were a large number of water slides. Some that you sat on mats on and others that you could sit on rings. All of these had a height restriction on.
These were brilliant fun and remind me of the hours I used to spend at water parks in Portugal when I was younger.
Like all of the rides there were shaded areas to queue up in which really helped, especially through the midday sun.
Adventure playground
As well as the main wave pool there was also a brilliant adventure playground, the Joker Soaker. This had areas to climb up whilst all the while water was spraying.
Every now and then the large bucket at the top would fill up with water and tip over everyone.
My youngest thought this was a bit much (it came down with quite a force) but the older two loved it.
What we thought of Legoland Water park Dubai
There were other smaller slides for even younger kids. It all felt like plenty to keep us occupied and happy.
There were great, large changing rooms. Also a couple of places to eat and a shop to buy swimming essentials as well as LEGO sets.
If you fancied really splashing out you could also pay to have a cabana to relax in which came with towels, drinks and a shaded area to sit in. It wasn’t cheap but looked like a great amenity if you were planning on spending the whole day at the water park on its own.
So, is this the best water park in Dubai for younger children?
As this is geared so specifically to under 12 year olds. With safe, fun ways for them to play and get used to the slides, we have to say that this is absolutely the best water park in Dubai for younger children.
You can visit Legoland Water Park on its own or as a combination with Legoland Dubai park tickets.
We did combine the two but could easily have spent the day at the water park if we’d had time.
