Delicious, easy Cabbage Salad with sesame & lime {Middle East}. I absolutely love a cabbage salad and it’s one of those things that is found all around the world. Changing slightly from country to country.
There’s the ginger and peanut cabbage salads from Asia, classic coleslaws in the UK and then this fresher, zestier easy cabbage salad with sesame & lime from the Middle East.
I love this recipe as it’s so versatile.
You can eat it heaped on to jacket potatoes, load it in to sandwiches or stuff it into houmus laden pittas. Or just eat it on its own by the bowlful.
It works with either red and green cabbage and since I like a vegan version I use egg-free mayo but whatever works for you.
It reminds me of our trip to Oman with kids when this felt like such a lovely, fresh crunch to the drier food that we were eating so much of.
It’s a great recipe to get children involved in the making of as well, as it’s really easy to pull together but feels like a beautiful, colourful dish at the end.
Our favourite way to use it is in our recipe for cauliflower shawarma which is amazing.
